North West Province Game Reserves
Adjacent to Sun City is the Pilanesburg Game Reserve, 1 hour from Marico, home of the big 5.
The Madikwe Game Reserve is also within an easy travelling distance from Groot Marico. Madikwe is a new Big Five game reserve situated 90 km north of Zeerust. There are local game farms in and around Groot Marico. We can assist with contact information.

Hiking and Bird Watching

For the avid bird watcher over 300 different species of birds have been identified in the area including highveld & bushveld species. Marico is a great Mountain biking area, one can challenge yourself in the Marico valley, some of the routes have great climbs, so be brave, these hill are challenging.

Diving and Fishing
A deep fresh water diving hole - “The eye” is the source of the the Groot Marico river, it is +-26km south from Angela’s Guest House. It is a great dive spot with crystal clear water about 17meters deep.
Within the Groot Marico district there are five different dams with birdwatching and fishing potential – bass, carp, Talapia, Barbel to name just a few.
